Inward Strategic Consulting Launches ChangeFx™ a new management research tool that measures how employees embrace change.

Web based research tool measures employee's enrollment and understanding, providing valuable insight to help companies engage employees in strategic initiatives with more relevant communications and actions.

BOSTON - January 8, 2003 - Inward Strategic Consulting, a premier national management/strategy consulting firm that specializes in marketing strategy/branding, change management communications and team alignment announced today that it has launched a new web based change management/communications measurement tool called ChangeFx™. This analytical employee-driven assessment tool is designed to help corporate management assess how change is accepted and embraced by their employees and provides insight to improve and/or accelerate employee enrollment.

In making the announcement, Allan Steinmetz, CEO of Inward said, "Change is difficult and continuous in today's economy. Nearly all companies have change initiatives underway, however very few have an effective way to measure the alignment and success. For a change program to be launched and executed successfully, companies need to understand how people feel about change and how to communicate it effectively. After assessing our market and client needs and many months of development, we have created ChangeFx™. ChangeFx™ measures how well employees understand change initiatives, their level of commitment, and the impact it has made on their behavior. It also evaluates the message, prescribes methods to strengthen understanding and improving employee enrollment.

ChangeFx™ uses a standard set of evaluation questions to measure the overall effectiveness of a change initiative. The questions and criteria can be customized as needed to meet unique client requirements. The process is simple. Employees log in to a secure web site and complete a short assessment survey. The survey uses a 5-point interval scale to evaluate the organization's communications effectiveness measured against 34 best practices statements. The entire survey can be completed within 3-5 minutes. Individual responses are confidential. However, secure real-time online review of summary results for each question can be made available to select individuals within the organization with password protection. After all responses are entered, Inward provides management with a graphical summary of the evaluation criteria. Weighted average ratings for each criteria are displayed in a radial graph format. Detailed reports outlining the distribution of responses to each question are also generated.

Kathy Nottingham, Managing Director of Inward's Minneapolis/ St. Paul office and lead developer explained, "ChangeFx™ is valuable in large and small change management, IT implementations and re-branding initiatives. Communication effectiveness is evaluated using the following criteria: Clear, shared vision, Leadership alignment, Communications process (metrics, vehicles), Communications impact (inspiration to act/change behavior), Employee enrollment, and Cultural alignment. ChangeFx™ helps clients review their current internal change communications effectiveness and delivers actionable insight for to improving and accelerating employee enrollment".

ChangeFx™ will provide a dramatic measurement of how well employees are engaged and illustrate how to reduce costs and improve change management effectiveness. A survey of 100 million employees by the Gallup organization in 2001 to assess attitudes of the US workforce found that only 26% of employees are actively engaged. (55% were not engaged and 19% were actively disengaged) The cost of retaining actively disengaged employees was estimated to be $300 billion. ChangeFx™ can help shed light on employee enrollment and acceptance of change initiatives and ultimately help companies save significant money.
